Receptionaly launches Square-connected AI front desk for salons
When configured and the service is available, the 24/7 service carries client context across calls and texts and integrates directly with Square Appointments.
LOS ANGELES — July 21, 2026 — Receptionaly (receptionaly.com) has launched an AI front desk for salons, barbershops, and beauty businesses. The service answers calls, continues conversations over text, and uses shared client context across both channels.
A client can text about a canceled appointment, ask for a call, and receive one from the same AI agent without repeating the request. Salon owners can watch the conversation live and review its transcript, recording, summary, and resulting booking activity.
Demand does not stop when a salon closes. Phorest Salon Software's analysis of more than 5,000 salons and spas found that only 54% of appointment bookings occurred during opening hours. Another 28% occurred in the evening after closing, with 18% arriving before opening. View the published data.
“Picking up the phone is table stakes,” said Phil Mannle, founder of Receptionaly. “A useful front desk needs to know the client, understand the appointment, and keep the conversation moving whether the client calls or texts. The salon owner should also be able to see exactly what happened.”
What makes Receptionaly different
- Shared call and text context. Calls and texts with each client remain in one conversation, allowing the AI agent to continue without making the client start over.
- Direct Square Appointments integration. Salon and Front Desk use Square APIs to access client and service context, check live availability, and create new appointments on Square Free, Plus, and Premium. Full calendar changes require Square Plus or Premium.
- Win-back workflow. Receptionaly identifies cancellations, no-shows, and lapsed regulars and presents salon owners with an itemized queue of potential revenue to recover. Receptionaly automatically prepares eligible customers while the owner initiates promotional sends.
Salon and Front Desk work with Square Appointments Free, Plus, and Premium to check live availability and create new bookings. Full cancellation and rescheduling across your Square calendar requires Square Appointments Plus or Premium. Launch sends your public booking link instead.
Plans start at $79 per month, with white-glove setup and no contracts. 7-day trial with 30 included call minutes; separately consented additional usage is charged in $5 blocks, up to $25. Salon owners and reporters can experience the product through the live call demo at receptionaly.com.
